Hip Pop FAQs
One of our founders, Emma, spent a few years living in the US, which is where she learnt how to make kombucha. Upon returning to the UK, she gave one of our other founders, Kenny (who has had issues with IBS for some time), some of her homemade Kombucha, and within a few weeks, his IBS symptoms were significantly better - much to his surprise. Overwhelmed by the relief he felt as an IBS sufferer, Kenny convinced Emma to build a tiny microbrewery in her Garage in order to start sharing the drink with others. We started off selling our booch on local farmer's markets. and then decided to take the leap and create a proper grown-up brewery on a beautiful farm in Cheshire. The rest is history - now we consider ourselves a 'Gut Health Drinks Brand' expanding our range from Kombucha to CBD-infused Kombucha and other lovely functional sodas. All are designed to support gut health!
We are all about supporting the environment, from the 100% natural ingredients we use to the reusable packaging options across all our packaging. We have moved from bottles to cans for all our drinks, in order to limit the carbon footprint required for not only producing the containers but also for recycling them. We don't add anything artificial to our drinks, for us, this is a non-negotiable. Any gut health brand can not claim to actually be a gut health brand if they are added artificially added ingredients to their drinks. Additionally, one goal for the not-too-distant future, is we are going to be applying for B Corp status as well! So watch this space.
At Hip Pop, one of our two key focuses is taste. We're on a mission to make the best-tasting gut health drinks in the world! To ensure we continue to work towards this goal and continue to create great-tasting drinks we apply two key practices to all of our testing, quality control and new product development. These are the following: All of our drinks are brewed by proper brewers, most of which have a background in brewing beer, this way we can ensure the highest quality production output from our brewery. Also, we work exclusively with BBC's Kate Goodman, a food and drinks presenter, and wine connoisseur, whose team taste tests everything before it goes to market.
Apart from using only gut-healthy ingredients in all our drinks so you get the benefits of Kombucha, because a happy gut is a happy life, we also include scientifically proven live cultures, which all work to support gut health. Aside from all the do-good within our drinks, we also support two charities on a regular basis. The first is Lifeshare UK, a homelessness charity based in Manchester - where we donate meals for every new subscriber to Hip Pop and run the occasional campaign where we would donate more meals. Secondly, Imagination Library Children's Library where we donate books to children that need them every month.
Basically, Kombucha is a fermented tea beverage, which is fizzy, tangy, a little bit sour and a little bit sweet. While Living Soda is... well, a soda that's come to life! Just kidding. It's a non-alcoholic soda with the same living cultures as our kombucha, just slightly low in sugar and lower in calories. Both ranges are great alternatives for regular sugary soft drinks or alcohol though!
Not even close! Hip Pop drinks are carefully crafted with 100% natural ingredients and brewed with love on our Cheshire farm. Mass-produced drinks don't stand a chance against our craft-brewed Gut Lovin' Drinks!
Yes, all Hip Pop drinks are Halal-suitable and ready to be enjoyed by everyone.
